Training without Borders Programme (Mexico)

Engineering and technical degree students from Guanajuato in Mexico have been included in this year’s Training without Borders, a programme for training in professional skills linked to Industry 4.0. This project is the result of an agreement between the Mexican state of Guanajuato, the SPRI (Basque Business Development Agency) Group and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.

Through this initiative, in the coming months this group of students will take part in workshops and work experience in CIFP Usurbil and other vocational training centres and Basque companies. The aim is to acquire skills related to the digital transformation of industry, in areas such as the IoT, virtual reality and additive processing, in addition to knowledge related to quality systems and enterprise.

The programme will be carried out with the collaboration of the Tknika, Zubigune Foundation, Lea Artibai and CIFP Miguel Altuna LHII training centres. The Basque industrial companies CIE, Ecenarro, Elay, Garay, Metagra, Panelfisa and RPK will also be involved in the project.

The training received in CIFP Usurbil and managed by the ZubiGune Foundation includes:

  • Motors (asynchronous, single-phase, synchronous, variable speed drives) – 32 hours
  • Solar PV installations – 32 hours
  • Thermal solar energy and HVAC – 66 hours
