Since 2013, together with CIFP Usurbil LHII and Tknika, the ZubiGune Foundation has been involved in the Technicians for Chile Programme. Its aim is to help to train technicians to a higher level through grants awarded to study abroad, allowing the students to specialise and improve their technical skills in their professional field.
In addition to increasing opportunities for study and further training abroad, the Programme seeks to strengthen international bonds with outstanding education and research institutions.
Within this Programme, the ZubiGune Foundation and CIFP Usurbil LHII are two of the organisations from the Basque Country that offer courses to specialise and improve technical skills thanks to a collaboration agreement on educational, scientific and technological cooperation between the Chilean government’s Ministry of Education and the Vocational Training Department of the Basque government’s Department of Education, Language Policy and Culture.
In addition to the fields of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency, the Technicians for Chile Programme is also aimed at teachers from the technical vocational education system who want to refresh their skills to ensure that, among other things, Chile has professionals who are able to effectively implement new workshop and/or laboratory technologies to meet the demands of the job market.
